Posting Expires: 10/22/2026 Salary: $54,815.19 General Description and Classification Standards: Performs semi-skilled work involving the operation and maintenance of vehicles and equipment. Duties may include running diagnostic tests on vehicles, completing work requests, performing fleet management tasks, reporting, and maintaining equipment which includes tow trucks, fork lifts, battery power packs, auto code scanners, key cutters and other equipment used in the daily operation of the garage. Supervision Received: Works under direct supervision and follows standard procedures and written instructions to accomplish assigned tasks. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: These are typical responsibilities for this position and should not be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Operates and maintains equipment, including tow trucks, fork lifts, battery power packs, auto code scanners, key cutters and other equipment used in the daily operation of the garage. Writes service requests; opens and closes work orders. Completes work requests. Reviews vehicle service history. Verifies warranty status. Test drives vehicles to assess performance. Adheres to inspection procedure checklist. Completes preventative maintenance checks. Completes maintenance or repairs; advises vehicle status. Assists with fleet management. Assesses repair or service needs of vehicle; runs diagnostic tests on vehicles. Maintains parts inventory and orders parts as needed. Schedules towing for disabled vehicles if required, arranges pick-up or dispatches operable vehicles to applicable service facility for repair. Performs post service inspections. Ensures cleanliness and safety of shop. Assists with reporting; compiles statistical information regarding labor, vehicle downtime and repair history. May oversee temporary or contract workers as needed. May perform other duties as assigned.
