Benton DairyJob Overview The Trucking & Logistics Operator / Assistant Manager plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of Wabash Bean Works and Greenwillow Dairy. This position combines transportation logistics, grain handling operations, equipment maintenance, and seasonal harvest coordination. Approximately 75% of the role focuses on trucking and logistics , delivering feed products between facilities and maintaining transportation equipment. The remaining 25% supports facility operations , including soybean roasting, grain handling, inventory management, and harvest delivery coordination with growers. The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically inclined, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced agricultural environment that requires flexibility during peak harvest seasons. Compensation & Benefits Hourly Rate: $30 per hour (exempt from overtime for hours exceeding standard schedule) Paid Time Off (PTO): 12 hours of PTO every 3 months during the first year 48 hours per year after 1 year 96 hours per year after 3 years 144 hours per year after 10 years Insurance options available Work Schedule Typical schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Average 40-50 hours per week under normal operations Extended hours during harvest season , with expected workloads of 70–90 hours per week to support deliveries and facility intake. Key ResponsibilitiesTrucking & Equipment Maintenance Transport feed products to dairy facilities Monday through Friday . Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on truck and trailer equipment to maintain reliability and prevent downtime. Maintain accurate delivery and product records using facility computer systems. Monitor equipment performance and report maintenance needs proactively. CDL preferred but not required (training opportunities may be available). Grain Handling & Soybean Roasting Operations Assist with the daily operations of the grain handling and soybean roasting facility, including: Grain receiving Storage management Soybean roasting Outbound product shipments Support oversight of the soybean roasting process to maintain consistent quality and meet dairy feed specifications. Implement and maintain a preventive maintenance (PM) program for grain handling and roasting equipment. Perform routine calibration, maintenance, and inspections to ensure optimal performance. Maintain detailed maintenance logs and coordinate repairs with technicians when needed. Troubleshoot operational or product quality issues while ensuring all safety protocols are followed. Harvest Delivery Coordination Coordinate inbound grain deliveries with growers during harvest season. Train and supervise seasonal employees supporting facility operations. Monitor delivery flow and adjust schedules to prevent bottlenecks during peak intake periods. Track harvest deliveries and reallocate resources when needed to maximize efficiency. Conduct and oversee lab testing of inbound grain loads . Maintain organized and accurate records of all load testing results. Ensure proper documentation of deliveries for inventory tracking, traceability, and reporting . Production & Logistics Scheduling Plan and manage production schedules for soybean meal and corn based on dairy demand. Coordinate deliveries with dairy operations and trucking providers. Track and document all transfers of grain products to dairy sites to maintain traceability. Dispatch and coordinate outbound trucking routes and schedules. Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished products and forecast supply needs to maintain continuous production. Cropping Operations Support Assist the cropping manager with field monitoring during harvest. Provide support at dairy facilities when additional operational assistance is needed.
