Prepares estimates, processes damage claims, works closely with the Managed Lanes contractors, performs record keeping activities, and provides Managed Lanes opening and closing schedules. Work requires contact with governmental officials, consultants, contractors and private entities. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor. Essential Duties for a Transportation Specialist I, II and III: Assists in prioritizing and scheduling projects. Ensures compliance with specifications for devices; safety laws, rules, and regulations; and the Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices. Monitors contracting, construction record-keeping and construction records auditing activities for multiple construction projects. Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
