Norton Lilly InternationalUnder the direction of your supervisor, the Transportation Operations Lead is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the daily execution of transportation operations across assigned locations. The role serves as the primary operational resource for transportation planning, resource allocation, dispatch oversight, service recovery, operational analysis, transportation technology administration, and process execution. The Transportation Operations Lead exercises independent judgment in assessing operational conditions, evaluating service requirements, allocating transportation resources, prioritizing operational activities, and determining appropriate solutions to transportation-related challenges. The position is responsible for supporting service reliability, operational efficiency, technology utilization, and transportation performance while ensuring adherence to established company standards. The Transportation Operations Lead provides functional leadership and operational guidance to transportation personnel but does not have direct authority over hiring, termination, disciplinary action, compensation, or performance management. Significant personnel matters, customer disputes, safety incidents, contractual issues, and operational matters with substantial financial or business impact are escalated to the Transportation Operations Manager. Summary of Objectives: Transportation Planning & Operational Coordination Coordinate and oversee daily transportation operations to ensure efficient utilization of drivers, vehicles, and third-party transportation resources. Evaluate transportation demand, service priorities, staffing availability, route requirements, and operational constraints to determine appropriate resource allocation. Exercise independent judgment when adjusting transportation resources to address changing operational conditions, customer requirements, and service disruptions. Determine and coordinate appropriate service recovery solutions when transportation challenges arise. Monitor transportation performance and proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency, service execution, and operational effectiveness. Resolve transportation-related operational issues and implement appropriate corrective actions within established authority. Escalate matters involving significant financial exposure, customer disputes, safety concerns, or policy implications to management. Driving Support Responsibilities May occasionally perform transportation services to support unusual operational demands or emergency service recovery situations. Maintain the qualifications necessary to perform transportation services when operationally required. Provide field-level observations and operational feedback to support continuous improvement of transportation services, dispatch procedures, and driver performance. Serve as a role model for operational excellence and customer service standards while performing transportation services. Transportation Systems & Telematics Administration Serve as the subject matter expert for transportation technology and telematics systems, including operational configuration recommendations, compliance monitoring, utilization analysis, and process optimization. Monitor transportation activity, driver utilization, route execution, and service performance through transportation technology platforms. Ensure transportation personnel properly utilize company technology systems and required operational tools. Analyze telematics data and operational metrics to identify opportunities for improved efficiency, compliance, service reliability, and resource utilization. Recommend technology-related process enhancements and operational improvements. Identify system utilization issues, data discrepancies, compliance concerns, and technology-related challenges and coordinate corrective actions as appropriate.
