Timber Buyer/Procurement Forester

Quality Hardwoods, Inc. is hiring a Timber Buyer for Michigan’s Lower Peninsula. This role is ideal for someone with hardwood timber, forestry, logging, or lumber experience who enjoys working with landowners, evaluating timber, and building long-term industry relationships. Responsibilities · Locate, evaluate, and purchase standing timber and logs. · Build relationships with landowners, foresters, loggers, and referral partners. · Estimate timber volume, quality, accessibility, and value. · Coordinate with crews, trucking, and mill staff to support harvest and delivery. Qualifications · Bachelor’s degree in forestry. · Experience in timber buying, forestry, logging, hardwood lumber, or land management preferred. · Knowledge of Michigan hardwood species, timber quality, and log values. · Strong communication, negotiation, and organization skills. · Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout Michigan’s Lower Peninsula.
