Shop/Yard Hand

Overview Charlie’s Charters is seeking a reliable and mechanically inclined Shop/Yard Hand to support our maintenance and operations team. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized repair facility and yard while assisting with the upkeep of a fleet of charter buses. The successful candidate will perform a variety of shop, yard, and basic maintenance duties to help ensure our vehicles remain in excellent condition and ready for service. Key Responsibilities Maintain cleanliness and organization of the maintenance shop, parts room, storage areas, and yard. Ensure the yard remains safe, presentable, and free of hazards. Assist with inventory management and stocking of maintenance supplies. Pick up and deliver parts, supplies, and equipment. Perform seasonal yard maintenance, including snow removal, leveling, and general grounds upkeep. Perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks on buses and company vehicles such as: - Replacing headlights, marker lights, wiper blades, mirrors, and other minor components. - Installing and maintaining onboard equipment such as dash cameras, GPS units, radios, etc. - Assisting licensed mechanics with repairs, servicing, and preventative maintenance activities. - Occasional cleaning/detailing of buses in emergency situations. Move buses and vehicles within the yard as required. Assist with shop projects and facility improvements. Maintain accurate records of completed tasks when required. Qualifications Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to safely use hand and power tools, operate a forklift, etc. Valid driver’s license (air brake endorsement not required but considered a valuable asset). Pay: $30.00-$34.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week Work Location: In person
