Senior Polaris RZR Pro R Race Mechanic and Fleet Manager

Travel: Baja California, Mexico, and regional off-road events The opportunity Fusion One Racing is seeking a highly skilled, resourceful mechanic to lead the preparation, maintenance, repair, and continuous improvement of our Polaris RZR Pro R vehicles while managing our company vehicle fleet. If you have worked directly on the factory Polaris Pro R race vehicle, you are exactly the type of candidate we are looking for. We strongly encourage you to apply and highlight that experience. Our program includes late-model Polaris Pro R recreational vehicles modified for racing, with plans in the very near future to add a Polaris factory race car based on the 2027 Boost engine platform. We need someone determined to master these vehicles, understand their systems and failure points, and learn the techniques needed to resolve complicated problems. Our vehicles will compete in one race every month. You will plan preparation in advance, work backward from each event date, and complete inspections, repairs, parts ordering, testing, and chase planning before departure. Your primary mission is UTV reliability and Baja racing support. You will also oversee electrical and mechanical maintenance and fleet management for all team UTVs, chase vehicles, trailers, and Fusion Factor and Fusion Logic company vehicles. Race preparation and advanced troubleshooting · Own post-race inspections, teardown as needed, repairs, reassembly, pre-race preparation, and final verification. · Diagnose engine, fuel, cooling, electrical, electronic, clutch, CVT, drivetrain, steering, suspension, and braking problems. · Resolve complex and intermittent faults using service manuals, wiring diagrams, diagnostic equipment, testing, and sound mechanical judgment. · Learn platform-specific service procedures, investigate recurring failures, and implement lasting repairs. · Inspect fuel lines, wiring, connectors, mounts, fasteners, and bearings for damage, leaks, wear, and potential failures. · Mount and dismount off-road tires, service beadlock wheels, and follow manufacturer tightening and torque procedures. · Document work, verify repairs, and communicate unresolved concerns before releasing a vehicle. Technical work and race supportElectrical work welding and fabrication · Diagnose shorts, poor grounds, charging issues, sensor failures, wiring faults, and accessory problems. · Install and service batteries, alternators, lighting, switch systems, radios, navigation equipment, and related electronics. · Build secure connections and protect wiring and hoses from heat, abrasion, vibration, and interference. · Perform welding and fabrication, including brackets, mounts, guards, supports, and other vehicle components. · Produce durable, clean work that remains accessible for service and withstands demanding off-road use. Recognize when structural or safety-critical work requires specialist support. Baja chase operations and recovery · Travel to Baja Mexico for testing, racing, chasing, mechanical support, and recovery. · Manage a fully equipped chase truck with the necessary tools, diagnostic equipment, spare parts, tires, recovery gear, and supplies. · Prepare packing lists, inspect equipment before departure, and replenish supplies after events. · Safely drive full-size trucks and tow, maneuver, load, and secure vehicle trailers. · Coordinate support locations, communications, repair priorities, and recovery plans with the driver, co-driver, and crew. · Perform efficient field repairs, component replacements, and tire changes under demanding conditions. · Safely use winches, jacks, towing equipment, and suitable recovery attachment points.
