Operations Manager

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Operations Manager to lead and oversee the daily functions of our retail or service environment. This role is vital in ensuring smooth store operations, exceptional customer service, and effective team management. The Operations Manager will coordinate various departments, manage inventory and sales processes, and implement operational strategies that drive business growth. Responsibilities Oversee daily store or branch operations, ensuring all activities align with company policies and standards. Manage inventory control, stock replenishment, and merchandising to optimize product availability and presentation. Lead hiring processes including interviewing, employee orientation, training, and ongoing development of staff. Supervise sales teams, set sales targets, monitor performance, and motivate staff to achieve retail sales goals. Handle purchasing, pricing strategies, and POS (Point of Sale) systems to maximize profitability and streamline transactions. Maintain accurate bookkeeping, payroll processing, cash handling, and financial recordkeeping. Ensure excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries promptly and resolving issues efficiently. Conduct shift management duties such as scheduling staff, supervising cashiering activities, and managing operational workflows. Implement inventory management practices to prevent stock loss and optimize stock levels. Lead operational initiatives including budgeting, cost control, and process improvements to enhance overall efficiency. Skills Proven management experience within retail or grocery store environments with supervisory responsibilities. Strong knowledge of retail math, pricing strategies, sales management, and inventory control techniques. Excellent communication skills in multiple languages; bilingual abilities are highly valued. Skilled in negotiation, purchasing decisions, and employee recruitment processes such as interviewing. Proficiency with POS systems, wireless sales technology, bookkeeping software, and basic math skills. Demonstrated leadership in team management, training & development programs, and operational oversight. Ability to handle cash handling procedures accurately while maintaining high standards of customer service. Organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple priorities efficiently under time constraints. Experience in supervising retail sales teams with a focus on achieving sales targets through effective coaching. Knowledge of merchandising standards, stock stocking procedures, and store presentation best practices.
