About Winston TCG We're Winston TCG, a trading card company in Arcadia. We started about three years ago and we sell Pokémon cards on TikTok Shop, Whatnot, eBay, Shopify, Walmart, and Best Buy, with livestreams running most of the day. We buy a lot of our cards in Japan, grade them, and sell them on stream. We're also opening our first retail store here in Arcadia. We're a young, fast-growing company, and we're looking for someone who wants to help build out the buying side of the business with us. The role This is a data role first. You'd own the numbers behind our card buying and grading operation — what we pay, what grades, what sells, what we net — and turn that into clean reporting leadership can act on each week. From there you'd keep cash and inventory tight and use what the data shows to guide the buyers on what to pick up and what to leave alone. It's hands-on. You'll split your time between the spreadsheets and the card room. Here's what you'd be responsible for: The numbers. Every stream, buying trip, and grading submission tracked: cost, sale price, fees, net. You'd build and own the weekly report — gross, net, margin, ROI by stream and by source — plus the numbers that drive buying decisions, like cost per graded 10, grading hit rate by source, and which cards and sets are actually moving on which platform. Getting that built is the first thing you'd do. Cash. Our buyers travel with cash to Japan and to shows. You'd issue it, log it, and reconcile every trip within a couple of days of the team getting back. Inventory and the grading pipeline. Cards come in, get checked, go out to grading, and come back for stream. You'd know where everything is, what it cost, and what it's worth at every step, and flag cards that aren't likely to grade well before we pay to submit them. Guiding the buyers. You won't be the one on the floor in Osaka. You'd build the buy lists and the rules the buyers work from — price ceilings, how many copies of a card we need, what's selling and what isn't — and check trip lists against inventory before anyone spends money. The room. Inventory organized and labeled well enough that when a host asks for a card, someone can find it fast. The team's day to day. Coordinating schedules and output for the buyers and processors, helping train new people, and giving leadership an honest read on how things are going. Shows and trips. Supporting card-show runs and Japan trips from the office: buy lists, cash, logistics, and the numbers review afterward. About you I don't care much about where you worked before. I care about how you work. The people who do well here have good common sense, keep real numbers, and don't need to be told twice. Here's what I'm looking for: You live in spreadsheets. Hand you a messy export and you'll come back with the three numbers that matter, not a 20-tab workbook. You're tight with cash. Every dollar is accounted for, every trip is reconciled, and you don't need reminding. You handle curve balls. Shipment's late, show was a bust, someone bought off the list — you deal with it that day and then put a rule in place so it doesn't happen again. You have good sense. I'll give you the goal and the context. I won't always have a procedure written down, and I need you to make the right call anyway. You tell me straight. If something's not working, I want to hear it from you with the numbers, not find out later. You like cards or you're curious about them. You don't need to be a Pokémon expert — the team has that — but you'll need to learn how to check condition in your first couple of months. Requirements Must have Bachelor's degree, ideally in business, accounting, finance, economics, supply chain, or something similar 3+ years running day-to-day operations where you were directly accountable for inventory or cash: retail, warehouse, e-commerce, or a business you ran yourself Advanced Excel / Google Sheets: pivot t…
