Must have long term care, and nursing home experience. Job Overview Central Supply is responsible for maintaining the inventory levels of medical supplies and equipment in a healthcare facility. This includes ordering, receiving, stocking, and distributing supplies and equipment. Medical Records plays a crucial role in overseeing the management and organization of patient medical records within a healthcare facility. This position ensures that all medical records are maintained accurately, securely, and in compliance with relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical office operations, familiarity with medical terminology, and proficiency in various health information systems. Responsibilities Planning and directing the procurement of nursing supplies Selecting vendors and supplies Researching and evaluating suppliers Analyzing price proposals and negotiating contracts Managing employees responsible for preparing, storing, and distributing equipment as needed for patient care Overseeing proper sterilization of medical supplies and assembly of equipment Maintaining inventory records of Central Supply Room Executing established procedures for decontamination, assembly, packaging, and sterilization Manages the daily operations of the medical records to ensure efficient workflow. Maintain and update patient records in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements. Implement and enforce policies regarding the confidentiality and security of patient information. Train and manage staff members within the medical records department. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate documentation of patient care. Conduct regular audits of medical records to ensure compliance with standards. Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems to optimize functionality and user experience. Respond to requests for information from patients, healthcare providers, and regulatory agencies. Skills Strong understanding of medical office procedures and protocols Strong understanding of par levels needed for medical supplies Proficiency in medical terminology and coding practices. Experience with health information systems and electronic medical record (EMR) software. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly. Problem-solving skills to address issues related to record management effectively. This position is essential for ensuring that patient care is supported by accurate and accessible medical records, contributing to the overall efficiency of healthcare delivery.
