Heavy Diesel & Fleet Mechanic — Ledford Services | Aledo, TX Job Type: Full-time Pay: $30–$35 per hour depending on experience Schedule: Monday–Friday, with occasional Saturdays Hours: Approximately 40–50 hours per week; overtime may be available but is not guaranteed. Job Description Ledford Services is looking for an experienced, dependable Heavy Diesel & Fleet Mechanic to join our team with a minimum of 8 years of experience. We operate a diverse fleet of heavy equipment, commercial trucks, and service vehicles. We need a mechanic who is comfortable diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a variety of equipment and vehicles. Equipment and vehicles you will be working on include: Heavy diesel equipment: Excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, loaders, and other construction equipment. Commercial trucks: Tractor-trailers, diesel trucks, and medium/heavy-duty work trucks. Ford Transit vans: Transit 150 and Transit 250 service vans, including gasoline engines, brakes, suspension, and general mechanical repairs. Light-duty vehicles: Gasoline and diesel pickups, including Chevrolet 2500/3500 trucks and other company vehicles. Experience with all equipment types is not required. Requirements A minimum of 8 years of experience Must have your own tools. Experience diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, and general mechanical problems. Ability to perform routine maintenance and repairs independently. Willingness to learn unfamiliar equipment and vehicle systems. Ability to work in dusty environments and varying temperatures. Strong work ethic, dependability, and honesty. Ability to recognize when a repair is beyond your experience and communicate that to the shop manager. Preferred Qualifications (Not Required) Commercial Driver's License (CDL). DOT air brake certification or willingness to obtain certification. Work Environment We have a large indoor maintenance shop with a spray-foam-insulated roof and an oil heater. The shop is not fully climate-controlled. We adjust our work schedule seasonally, starting earlier during the summer and later during the winter when practical.
