Job Overview Manages international shipments from start to finish within the EMEA & APAC regions, from pre-shipment compliance through air export, import clearance and final delivery. Ensure every shipment is compliant, correctly documented, cost-efficient and delivered on time. Key Responsibilities Air Export Operations Secures air cargo space with carriers and consolidators while coordinating routing and cut-off times. Arranges origin pickup and coordinates cargo delivery to the warehouse or airline. Issues and reviews Master and House Air Waybills (MAWB/HAWB) and sends accurate pre-alerts to destination agents, freight forwarders, exporters, importers and brokers. Monitors departures, connections and shipment milestones and proactively resolves delays, documentation discrepancies and routing exceptions. Import Operations Tracks inbound shipments and proactively provides updates on ETAs, clearance status, delivery milestones and exceptions. Coordinates with customs brokers and destination agents to clear customs on time. Confirms required import documentation, permits, licenses and approvals are in place before shipment, whenever applicable. Shipping Documentation Checks, prepares and verifies commercial invoices and packing lists for accuracy, consistency and compliance. Prepares and verifies air waybills (MAWB, HAWB, AWB), certificates of origin, and compliance requirements for electronic equipment containing or packed with lithium batteries. Prepares and submits Letter of Credit (LC) documents according to instructions provided by the agent or Importer of Record (IOR). Identifies and resolves discrepancies between shipping documents before cargo moves. Maintains complete and accurate shipment records in accordance with company procedures and applicable recordkeeping requirements. Importer / Exporter of Record (IOR/EOR) & Compliance Serves as the liaison for obtaining import permits, licenses, homologations and product certifications. Verifies duties, taxes and fees quoted by agents or Importers of Record (IORs) for accuracy and reconciles them against client billing. Coordinates IOR/EOR requirements with customers, overseas partners, customs brokers and regulatory authorities. Reviews and validates HS classifications, declared values, country of origin and destination-specific import requirements prior to shipment. Supports restricted-party screening, end-use/end-user documentation and other applicable trade compliance requirements. Identifies potential compliance issues and escalates regulatory or documentation concerns before cargo is released for movement. Partner Management Serves as the main point of contact for customers and agents throughout the shipment lifecycle. Builds and maintains working relationships with air carriers, overseas agents, IOR/EOR providers and freight forwarding partners. Escalates and resolves operational issues across time zones to keep door-to-door service levels on track. Evaluates and negotiates partner rates and ensures clients are billed at the correct rates with the appropriate profit margin. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in international freight forwarding or logistics operations, preferably with air freight experience on APAC and EMEA lanes. Highly detail-oriented, with strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively under time-sensitive cut-offs across multiple time zones Proven experience working directly with customers, air carriers, overseas agents, Importer/Exporter of Record providers and freight forwarders. Working knowledge of Incoterms, HS classification, customs valuation, duties and local taxes. Fluent in English. Ability to quickly learn new systems, procedures, client SOPs and operational processes. Ability to independently manage shipments, make operational decisions and resolve day-to-day logistics issues.
