Engineering Technician

Shift: Monday- Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm SUMMARY Position responsibilities include -Transferring customer engineering information into internal programs, optimizations, and supporting documents as needed. -Works with production planning on creation of continuous router programs to match work orders and production schedules. -Processing daily CNC programs production needs. -Assists with demand planning to determine production needs. -Participates on cross-functional product development teams for new product launches to ensure print, program and process validation accuracies. -Assists with new product costing process by creating programs through optimization software. -Designing and developing furniture concepts utilizing 2D/3D design software. -Physically assisting in fabricating prototypes and samples related to new products & markets. -Assist in the build of new item information into ERP system (Netsuite). Bill of materials, process routings, and item master information. -Inventory control/management – Support Engineering and Operations regarding material set up in NS, work order material designation, and overall inventory accuracies. -Assistance as needed to support engineering team with ongoing projects. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Associate’s degree in engineering discipline preferred. Experience in product and process design, 2D/3D drawing, and CNC programming preferred. Experience with Autodesk Fusion, Mastercam, Netsuite preferred. LANGUAGE SKILLS · Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. · Ability to write routine reports and correspondence using data collection abilities. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS · Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. · Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. REASONING ABILITY · Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. · Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
