General Manager

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and strategic General Manager to lead our retail operations with enthusiasm and expertise. Responsibilities Lead and supervise all store activities, including sales, inventory management, merchandising, and customer service to ensure smooth daily operations. Recruit, interview, train, and develop team members to build a high-performing retail sales team focused on achieving targets and delivering outstanding service. Manage employee orientation programs, ongoing training & development initiatives, and performance evaluations to foster growth and engagement. Oversee budgeting, payroll processing, bookkeeping, and cash handling procedures to maintain financial accuracy and compliance. Implement effective inventory control strategies, including stock replenishment, pricing adjustments, and shrink reduction initiatives. Utilize POS (Point of Sale) systems for sales transactions, reporting, and operational analytics to optimize store performance. Coordinate purchasing decisions, manage vendor relationships, and oversee merchandising standards to maximize profitability. Ensure adherence to health & safety regulations, company policies, and operational procedures while maintaining a welcoming environment for customers and staff alike. Experience Proven management experience within the retail industry with a strong background in supervising sales teams and store operations. Demonstrated skills in negotiation, employee orientation, interviewing techniques, recruiting strategies, and team leadership. Familiarity with POS systems, inventory management tools, cash handling procedures, and basic bookkeeping practices. Experience in retail math including pricing strategies, sales analysis, budgeting, and financial reporting. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly valued for effective communication with diverse teams and customer bases. Prior assistant manager or supervisory experience in retail stores is preferred; familiarity with retail industry sales team management is essential.
