Position Overview The Entry-Level Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for supporting the maintenance, repair, and installation of equipment, machinery, and facility systems to ensure safe and efficient operations. This role performs routine preventive maintenance, assists with troubleshooting mechanical issues, and works closely with experienced maintenance team members to minimize equipment downtime. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, eager to learn, safety-focused, and committed to maintaining a reliable production environment. Requirements: DUTIES INCLUDE: Performs preventive maintenance work on machinery. Performs set-up and repair on new and existing machinery. Assists Mechanics during large overhauls and day-to-day work. Continuous learning of advanced safety, machining, welding, rigging, and repair techniques. Assists in facilities maintenance as required. Communicates with maintenance personnel, engineers and vendors. Perform basic support type tasks of various trades that can be completed safely. Maintain a clean and safe work area. QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be capable of trouble shooting and problem-solving during machine and or tool repair process. Must be capable of working independently with little supervision. Notify Supervisor of issues that affect cost and timing. Must be capable of measuring and machining parts to print tolerances. Must be capable of expediting machine/tool repairs within tool room or with vendors. Must be capable of adjusting schedules to react to changes in resources (personnel/equipment). Notify Supervisor and/or Lead Person when necessary to replenish departmental supplies. Ability to push 200+ lbs on wheels. Ability to frequently bend, squat, and reach throughout shift. Ability to work with and around hot material. Ability to frequently work with vibratory tools. Ability to work in an environment that is not climate controlled. Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Ability to walk for extended periods of time. Perform other miscellaneous related duties as assigned. TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT: Computers and printers, micrometer, calipers, scales, blueprints, comparator. Ordinary standard gages and ordinary special gages. All department machinery, (including but not limited to): welding, brazing, mills, lathes, grinding machines, drills, heat treating equipment, etc., reports, printouts, and forms.
