We are looking for an experienced, mechanically inclined Forklift / Lift Truck Mechanic or Industrial Equipment Technician to join our team. We welcome experienced, retired or semi-retired mechanics who would enjoy working as little as one day per week or up to three days per week. Full-time opportunities are also available. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on mechanical work, troubleshooting, and solving technical problems without the demands of a traditional field service position. This is an in-shop position. No regular field service calls or travel to customer locations are required. Our equipment includes electric pallet trucks, walkie stackers, powered platform trucks, hydraulic lifting systems, stainless steel lift trucks, and custom-engineered industrial equipment. Unlike a traditional forklift service position, this role offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of specialized and custom-built equipment. Key Responsibilities Inspect, service, troubleshoot, and repair industrial lift trucks and lifting equipment. Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems. Work with electric pallet trucks, walkie stackers, powered industrial trucks, and specialized lifting equipment. Troubleshoot electric drive motors, electronic controllers, batteries, chargers, and associated electrical components. Work with Curtis motor controllers and related electrical systems. Repair and maintain hydraulic cylinders, pumps, valves, hoses, and power units. Perform equipment testing, adjustments, and quality inspections before shipment. Assist with testing and commissioning new equipment. Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and hydraulic diagrams. Identify replacement parts and work with our engineering and production teams to resolve technical issues. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop. Qualifications Previous experience as a forklift mechanic, lift truck technician, industrial equipment mechanic, heavy equipment mechanic, or similar position. Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair abilities. Good working knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems. Experience with battery-powered industrial equipment, including DC motors and electronic controllers. Experience with Curtis motor controllers is a definite asset. Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics. Ability to work independently and solve mechanical problems. Good communication skills and attention to detail.
