Dock Worker-Full Time (king George

The Loading Dock position is responsible for working within the distribution center to unload incoming product and appropriately reload and route delivery trucks from a distribution center. They serve an integral role in the distribution of plants for sale at Home Depot Garden Centers. They are some of the hardest workers around during our seasonal months. They help to transport some of the highest quality plants industry wide. Tasks and Responsibilities Unload/organize items in correct areas Pull/prepare orders for delivery Locate the correct items through site or UPC tags. Apply correct signage to carts. Perform other non-daily tasks as needed Skills & Competencies Accuracy in recordkeeping and in sorting, checking, counting, and verifying items received. Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced team environment. Ability to work effectively and in a cohesive team atmosphere with all areas Must be able to work in a safety aware environment Ability to follow direction Forklift certification (optional/desired) Bilingual (optional/desired) Requirements High school diploma or GED. Ability to withstand exposure to varying weather conditions and temperatures in warehouse and on loading dock. Candidate must be able to bend, pull and lift 50 lbs. consistently throughout the course of a work day Must be able to climb ladders, use a pallet jack Strong work ethic Ability to pull and or push rolling carts Proven history of punctuality Access to reliable transportation Basic math skills Must have good dexterity skills All successful applicants should expect to undergo a screening for prohibited levels of drugs prior to beginning employment.
