The successful candidate will have an opportunity to contribute to the safe and efficient deployment of this new fleet technology. This full-time, dual-role position combines daily waste-management dispatch operations with health and safety coordination. Based in Grimsby, Ontario, the successful candidate will manage fleet routing, driver support, service requirements, regulatory compliance, site safety planning, incident tracking, and related operational reporting in a fast-paced environment. Primary Duties – Dispatch and Health & Safety: Senior/Specialized role · Manage dispatch operations Monday – Friday, occasional Saturday Rotation as required · Managing incoming service orders, set up new customers and services on operating system Dispatch and route vehicles Create driver routes based on live daily order taking Organize daily workforce requirements (drivers and collection vehicles) Upload routes to drivers electronically to onboard vehicle device Prioritize and dispatch same-day service orders to drivers · Multi-task and prioritize throughout the day · Maintain regular communication with drivers to confirm that service orders and route adjustments have been received, understood, and completed. Direct drivers and loads to suitable landfill, transfer stations material receivers Assist drivers, answer their calls respond to question Monitor route and driver progress throughout the day, delegate workload - re-assign or re-schedule as necessary to meet daily workload requirements · Monitor driver delays, vehicle breakdowns, and traffic conditions; coordinate operational solutions; and communicate changes to supervisors and the maintenance department. Mitigate driver overtime hours Attend to drivers, requests, and site service concerns Communicate and report driver site issues to clients, supervisor, managers and site property managers Communicate with customers, delays or missed pick-up; arrange modified collection Communicate and assist in rectifying on-site service issues example, no access, locked gates, containers not out for collection Evaluate site service, communicate with customer in level of collection overloads excess waste loads Data entry, update client data base, site information, service notes · Review and Complete driver daily routes for invoicing · Assist administration with various tasks · Track Daily Asset Inventory Health and Safety Coordination – Leadership Responsibilities (Team Setting) · Lead and support company health and safety initiatives, including site safety planning, approved vehicle travel paths, incident investigations, and report preparation. · Monitor Operator daily Pre or Post Trip Inspection effectiveness · Develop, communicate, and enforce health and safety requirements based on site-specific working conditions; lead safety discussions and meetings; and prepare visual, site-approved vehicle travel paths. · Plan, organize, and lead regular health and safety meetings, toolbox talks, and employee safety briefings; document attendance, discussion topics, follow-up actions, and completion dates. · Manage the company’s WHMIS program, including maintaining current safety data sheets, workplace labels, employee training records, and refresher-training schedules. · Coordinate WSIB reporting and administration, including w…
