Director of Transportation & Trucking Operations Anthill Logistics | Duluth, GA | Full-Time Reports to: Owner / Executive Management Anthill Logistics is seeking an experienced transportation leader to build and lead our new trucking division , serving local Atlanta and Georgia routes plus interstate freight. This hands-on role combines startup planning, daily operations, safety compliance, customer development, and financial management. Key Responsibilities Develop the business plan, startup budget, pricing, and operating procedures. Build customer relationships and negotiate profitable freight contracts. Coordinate required operating authority, registrations, and DOT/FMCSA compliance. Recruit and manage drivers; oversee dispatch, routing, and fleet maintenance. Implement safety, driver qualification, and compliance programs. Track costs, fleet utilization, service performance, and profitability. Coordinate trucking services with Anthill’s warehouse and accounting operations. Required Qualifications At least 5 years of trucking or transportation experience , including 3 years in leadership . Experience launching, expanding, or managing a trucking fleet. Strong knowledge of DOT/FMCSA requirements and local and interstate operations. Experience managing drivers, dispatch, maintenance, transportation pricing, and fleet systems. Ability to work independently and report directly to ownership. Trucking startup experience, existing shipper or broker relationships, and warehouse integration experience are preferred. First 90 Days: Build the startup and compliance plan, establish systems and staffing, develop a customer pipeline, and launch operations when required approvals and resources are in place.
