POSITION SUMMARY Community Living Cambridge (CLC) is dedicated to supporting individuals with developmental disabilities by providing meaningful opportunities and experiences, while upholding their rights, confidentiality, and dignity in alignment with CLC’s mission, vision, and values. As a key member of the Executive Team, the Director of Finance Services provides strategic leadership and fosters a collaborative approach to all financial and revenue-generating activities. This role ensures the organization’s financial operations comply with all legislative, regulatory, and funding requirements. The Director of Finance Services oversees a wide range of financial functions, including cost and general accounting, budgeting, cashflow and investment management, payroll, accounts payable and receivable, financial analysis, and risk management support, Information Technology, capital assets, internal and external financial reporting, Operations Analysis on vehicle fleet management, compliance with Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS) and risk management. This is a pivotal leadership position and is responsible for driving revenue generation strategies, optimizing financial models, and enhancing the sustainability and profitability of the organization. The Director of Finance Services collaborates closely with the Executive Director and cross-functional leaders and teams to align financial goals with CLC’s broader strategic objectives, while cultivating a culture of accountability and performance excellence. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Provide stewardship to the organization in the management of its assets and resources, achieved through the effective use of strong internal controls and compliance with all internal and external reporting obligations * Participate as an active member of the Organization’s Senior Management Team * Translate complex financial data into actionable insights for organizational leadership, board and committees. * Regularly present financial information to the Board of Directors, Finance Committee and others * Planning, directing, coordinating and evaluating all accounting operational functions regularly focusing on the efficiency of business processes and applying improvements, including developing long and short-term organizational strategies * Complete any necessary documentation and reporting required by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services ‘MCCSS’ * Review financial statements jointly prepared with the Associate Director, once drafted review with the Executive Director and Treasurer as well as monthly reporting and forecasting to the Board of Directors * Lead and facilitate the annual budgeting process, present a draft budget to the Executive Director and once finalized present to the Board of Directors * Provide direct managerial support to the Associate Director of Finance and Administration and IT Specialist * Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff at all levels, funders, MCCSS and other external stakeholders to advance financial activities * Be an active member of the negotiating team during collective bargaining and participate in CLC meetings where financial support or advice may be helpful * Complete supported individual personal financial audits and prepare reports for Associate Directors particularly discrepancies and errors, following that report to the Board of Directors quarterly. * Manage procurement processes, oversee all mortgages, vehicle fleet, leases, investments, purchasing and coordinate material and resources allocation * Responsible for the oversight into all aspects of information technology, cybersecurity, systems and processes within the organization * Recommend, develop and implement financial policies and practices that align with the overall strategic plan and fiscal integrity * Act as the Executive Lead for the annual financial audit and ensure all information is prepared in …
