Diesel Truck & Trailer Technician Full-time | $28–$34 per hour, based on experience South Trailers LLC is looking for an experienced Diesel Truck & Trailer Technician to join our growing team. We need someone with strong mechanical skills, welding experience, and the ability to diagnose problems and complete reliable repairs independently. This position includes work on diesel tractors and commercial trailers, both at our shop and through mobile service calls. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and air-system issues on diesel trucks and trailers. Perform preventive maintenance, oil and filter changes, lubrication, and general equipment inspections. Service brakes, wheel seals, hubs, bearings, suspension components, and air lines. Troubleshoot trailer lighting, wiring, and ABS issues. Repair landing gear, doors, flooring, crossmembers, and other trailer components. Perform welding and fabrication, including mounting brackets and structural repairs. Use diagnostic equipment and technical information to identify faults. Inspect completed repairs and test equipment for proper operation. Record labor time, parts used, repair notes, and before-and-after photos. Keep the service vehicle, tools, and work areas clean and organized. Communicate additional repair needs clearly to management. Qualifications Hands-on experience repairing diesel trucks and commercial trailers. Welding and fabrication experience required; aluminum welding experience is a plus. Ability to troubleshoot problems and work with limited supervision. Familiarity with air brakes, suspension, electrical systems, and preventive maintenance. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer locations. Dependable attendance, attention to detail, and a commitment to safe work practices. DOT inspection experience and relevant certifications are a plus. What We Offer $28–$34 per hour, depending on experience and demonstrated skills. Full-time work with a growing truck and trailer service business.
