Responsibilities Safely operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers with manual transmissions, adhering strictly to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Plan and follow efficient routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries across OTR driving routes. Load, secure, transport, and unload freight such as freight shipments, hazardous materials (hazmat), dangerous goods, or specialized cargo like refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, or tanker contents. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure compliance with safety standards and identify maintenance needs. Manage the manual handling of logistics cargo, ensuring proper load & unload procedures while maintaining safety protocols for hazardous materials regulations. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery documentation, and cargo manifests in accordance with FMCSA regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules, route adjustments, or any issues encountered during transit. Experience Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a valid CDL A license. Demonstrated expertise in driving tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or refrigerated trailers on long-distance routes. Familiarity with GPS navigation tools and route planning for efficient OTR driving. Hands-on experience with truck loading/unloading procedures and logistics cargo handling. Knowledge of hazardous materials regulations (Hazmat), dangerous goods transportation, and safety standards mandated by FMCSA and DOT. Delivery driver experience involving freight management across various types of cargo including refrigerated goods or specialty loads. Ability to operate manual transmission trucks safely while complying with all safety regulations related to commercial driving and hazardous materials handling.
