Cashier/Customer Service

Job Summary We are seeking a friendly and professional Cashier/Customer Service representative to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will excel in providing exceptional customer service, managing transactions efficiently, and creating a welcoming environment for all shoppers. Bilingual skills and experience in retail sales or technical sales are highly valued to enhance our customer engagement and sales efforts. This role offers an opportunity to develop strong communication, organizational, and sales skills in a dynamic retail setting. Duties Greet customers warmly and assist with their inquiries in person or via phone, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and communication skills Operate POS systems accurately for cash handling, credit card processing, and sales transactions Conduct product demos and upsell items to maximize sales opportunities while ensuring customer satisfaction Manage merchandising displays to ensure products are well-presented and organized Assist customers with product selection, providing knowledgeable recommendations based on their needs Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area and store environment Handle customer complaints or concerns professionally, ensuring positive resolution and customer retention Support inventory management tasks as needed, including stock replenishment and product organization Experience Previous experience in retail sales, cashiering, or customer service preferred Technical sales experience or familiarity with product demos is a plus Bilingual abilities (English and additional language) highly desirable to serve diverse customer bases Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy Excellent communication skills, including time management and the ability to build rapport with customers Knowledge of POS systems, merchandising principles, and sales techniques such as upselling is advantageous Ability to work flexible hours, demonstrating reliability and professionalism at all times Pay: $23.75-$30.47 per hour Benefits: Dental care Designated paid holidays Store discount Vision care Work Location: Hybrid remote in Halifax, NS B3J 1G5
