Buyer
Atlantic Operations is a wholly owned subsidiary of St Barbara Limited, an ASX listed gold producer and explorer with mining assets in Canada and Australia.
We are currently seeking a Buyer to support our Atlantic Operations. This role is a full time, permanent position, reporting to the Procurement Superintendent and will be based out of our Stellarton or Dartmouth office.
The Opportunity:
- Manage inventory levels to support ongoing operational needs.
- Issue RFQs and evaluate pricing prior to purchase order creation.
- Create, update, and process purchase orders, including maintaining ERP (Sage) data accuracy.
- Procure materials (including reagents) and coordinate delivery logistics with site security.
- Source and procure materials across departments, prioritizing operations continuity.
- Track, expedite, and update purchase orders with accurate delivery timelines.
- Handle customs clearance and coordinate with brokers for international shipments.
- Assist in developing purchasing contracts and fixed-price agreements.
Our successful candidate will demonstrate the following:
- At least 3 years relevant procurement experience.
- Deep understanding and professional experience with purchasing processes.
- Good experience with enterprise resource planning system functionality.
- Attention to detail and ability to multi-task and meet deadlines is required.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Undergraduate in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration is desired
- Experience with Sage 300 / inventory modules within an accounting system is desired
- Experience in an industrial environment is desired
- Experience in warehousing and inventory management is desired
- Experience working in a mining environment (specifically gold mining) is desired
