Billboard Truck Driver

Job Summary: A billboard truck driver (also known as a mobile billboard driver or operator) operates a vehicle with advertising displays, driving along predetermined, high-traffic routes to maximize ad exposure. The role is an intersection of driving, logistics, and marketing, often requiring attention to detail and good communication skills. Job duties and responsibilities Vehicle Operation: Safely operate a truck equipped with large advertising displays, which may be static or digital. Report any incidents, accidents, or safety hazards promptly to management. Participate in safety training and comply with all company policies and procedures. Route Adherence: Follow specific, pre-planned routes and schedules, often targeting high-traffic areas, events, or specific client locations, to ensure maximum visibility. Follow all federal, state, and local traffic laws, including speed limits, weight restrictions, and parking regulations. Vehicle and Equipment Maintenance : Perform routine pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and the billboard display, reporting any maintenance issues or technical problems to supervisors. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain daily work logs, use GPS tracking and/or take photos of the truck at key locations to document campaign progress and route effectiveness. Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding schedules and any issues encountered. Brand Representation : Act as a brand ambassador, representing the company and its clients professionally. This may involve occasional interaction with the public or clients. Maintain a clean and professional appearance of the truck and equipment. Flexibility : Be prepared for varied work hours, including evenings or weekends, depending on campaign needs and peak traffic times. Ad Setup (occasional): In some cases, drivers may assist with the setup or adjustment of the billboard display hardware. Other responsibilities and duties may be assigned. Qualifications: Valid Driver's License: A valid state-issued driver's license is essential. Clean Driving Record: Employers consistently require a clean driving record and the ability to pass background checks and drug tests. Driving Experience: Experience operating large vehicles is often necessary, especially in urban environments. Reliability and Punctuality: Adhering to strict schedules is crucial for campaign success. Navigation Skills: Proficiency with GPS navigation systems and route planning software is typically required. Communication Skills: Strong communication skills are needed to coordinate with dispatchers, marketing teams, and report progress or issues effectively. Attention to Detail: Precision is vital to ensure the billboard is displayed correctly and all routes are covered as planned. Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: Must maintain a valid driver’s license, motor vehicle insurance and remain drug/alcohol-free at all times. Valid New Mexico Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred but not required. Minimum of 21 years of age. Previous experience operating trucks or large vehicles preferred. Strong sense of responsibility and punctuality. Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to schedules. Good communication skills and professional demeanor. Must be able to pass a background check in compliance with cannabis industry regulations. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds. Ability to sit for extended periods while driving. Good vision and hearing to operate vehicles safely. Work Environment: Primarily outdoors, driving in various weather conditions across New Mexico.
