Job Summary Nissan Kia of Middletown is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Parts Counter Associate to join our growing team in our BRAND NEW FACILITY! In this role, you will support our technicians, service advisors, and wholesale customers by accurately and efficiently fulfilling parts requests for our busy dealership. You will also help keep the parts department organized, well-stocked, and running smoothly. Duties Assist customers in identifying and selecting the correct automotive parts and accessories based on their vehicle needs and specifications. Provide expert advice on automotive diagnostics, vehicle systems, and mechanical troubleshooting to support customer decisions. Manage inventory control by stocking, organizing, and maintaining parts displays to ensure product availability. Process sales transactions accurately using POS (Point of Sale) systems while handling cash and credit payments with professionalism. Build strong customer relationships through effective communication, product knowledge sharing, and personalized service. Collaborate with the service team to facilitate automotive repair processes and ensure timely parts delivery. Utilize inventory management software (such as CDK) to track stock levels, reorder supplies, and maintain accurate records of parts movement. Engage in retail math to calculate pricing, discounts, and profit margins while supporting retail sales goals. Maintain a clean, organized work environment by stocking shelves regularly and ensuring all parts are properly labeled. Communicate effectively via phone etiquette to answer inquiries, take orders, or provide technical support to customers. Requirements Proven experience in automotive parts sales or dealership environments with a strong understanding of automotive repair processes. Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems, automotive diagnostics, and troubleshooting techniques. Familiarity with inventory management systems (CDK & X-time), POS systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and retail math principles. Excellent communication skills in multiple languages or bilingual abilities are highly desirable for serving diverse customer bases. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for inventory control and stock management. Ability to negotiate effectively with customers and vendors to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes. Customer service orientation with a friendly demeanor and professional phone etiquette. Knowledge of automotive parts management, retail sales strategies, and dealership operations is preferred. Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining a high level of integrity. Flexibility to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities efficiently. Prior dealership, auto parts store or auto body shop experience is required please include all past experience related. Must be able to work Saturday's as scheduled.
