As we continue to grow, we're looking for a motivated, detail- oriented Account Clerk to join our team. Our team comes from a variety of professional backgrounds, and we believe the right attitude, work ethic, and problem-solving abilities are just as important as previous industry experience. Experience in transportation or logistics is an asset, but absolutely not a requirement. We're happy to train the right individual. The Role As an Accounting Clerk, you'll play an important role in the day-to-day execution of our finance function along with working with our Sales and Customer Service Groups. This is a fast-paced position that requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to think on your feet. Every day presents different challenges, and we're looking for someone who enjoys finding solutions and taking ownership of their work. What You'll Be Doing ● Process accounts payable, including entering, verifying, and coding carrier invoices ● Prepare and issue customer invoices accurately and on time ● Record and apply customer payments, deposits, and receipts ● Reconcile carrier invoices against shipment records in our Transportation Management System (TMS) ● Assist with invoice dispute resolution with carriers ● Respond to carrier and customer inquiries regarding invoices and payments ● Maintain accurate and organized financial records and supporting documentation ● Assist with month-end closing procedures and journal entries ● Prepare routine financial reports and summaries as requested ● Assist with expense reporting, payment runs, and cheque/EFT processing ● Support the accounting team with audits, sales tax (GST/HST) filings, and other ad hoc tasks Who We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is motivated, resourceful, and eager to develop their career in a growing company. The ideal candidate will possess: ● Strong problem-solving skills: You enjoy tackling challenges and finding practical solutions ● Excellent organizational skills: You can manage multiple priorities and stay organized in a fast-paced environment ● Strong communication skills: You're comfortable communicating professionally over the phone and through email ● Attention to detail: You understand the importance of accuracy and following through on commitments ● A competitive mindset: You're motivated by results and continuously look for ways to improve ● Technical aptitude: You're comfortable learning new software and working with technology ● A team-first attitude: You enjoy collaborating with others to achieve common goals ● Initiative and accountability: You're comfortable making decisions, taking ownership, and working independently ● A willingness to learn: You're curious, adaptable, and interested in developing new skills Qualifications ● Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience ● 1–2 years of experience in an accounting, bookkeeping, or accounts payable/receivable role is preferred ● Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping practices ● Experience with accounting software (such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) is an asset ● Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel ● Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy ● Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines ● Strong written and verbal communication skills ● Ability to handle confidential information with discretion ● Experience in transportation, logistics, or freight brokerage is an asset, but not required We encourage candidates from other industries to apply.
