Job Overview Join our dynamic logistics team as a Yard Spotter, where you will play a vital role in maintaining efficient yard operations and ensuring the smooth movement of freight. As a Yard Spotter, you will be responsible for safely maneuvering tractor-trailers and other freight vehicles within the yard, coordinating with drivers and warehouse personnel to facilitate timely loading, unloading, and parking. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in commercial truck driving and logistics cargo handling in a fast-paced environment. Seeking Class A Truck Driver with 3 months or more Class A Experience to work a local yard driver position. Local Yard will perform yard moves and may be asked to make deliveries in the local area. Drivers must be prepared for a fast-paced work environment and use automatic transmission equipment . MONDAY - FRIDAY 4PM to 2PM $23.00 per hour overtime after 40 hours $34.50 Responsibilities Safely maneuver tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers within the yard using manual handling techniques and GPS navigation systems. Coordinate with delivery drivers to position trucks for loading and unloading, ensuring compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) standards. Assist with truck loading and unloading processes, including freight handling involving hazardous materials (Hazmat) and dangerous goods, following all hazardous materials regulations. Use GPS navigation tools to guide trucks along over-the-road (OTR) driving routes when necessary, supporting delivery driver experience and route driving tasks. Maintain accurate logs of yard activities, including inbound/outbound shipments, trailer locations, and vehicle movements in accordance with DOT regulations. Ensure proper load & unload procedures are followed for all freight types, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and other specialized equipment. Conduct routine safety inspections of trailers and yard equipment to prevent accidents or damage, adhering strictly to safety protocols. Experience Prior experience in commercial truck driving or delivery driving is preferred; familiarity with truck loading/unloading procedures is a plus. Knowledge of logistics cargo handling involving freight transportation, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and hazardous materials. Experience operating GPS navigation systems and understanding over-the-road (OTR) driving routes enhances efficiency in this role. Familiarity with FMCSA regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) standards, hazardous materials regulations, and safety compliance practices is highly desirable. Hands-on experience with manual transmission trucks or tractor-trailers is advantageous; must be comfortable with manual handling tasks related to truck loading/unloading. Strong understanding of truck driving safety protocols and hazard management ensures a safe working environment for all team members.
