Yard Hand (Shipping & Receiving)

Must have or be eligible to get a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Card) 4. Potential hires MUST live locally and have reliable transportation We are currently looking for a professional candidate(s) to join our team as Yard Hand(s). Yard Hands assist our Lead Expeditor with equipment inspections and maintenance, keeping up with the flow of cargo movement, and keeping the yard orderly and clean . In this position: - You will report & support the efforts of the Lead Expeditor - You will be responsible for completing daily equipment checks, keeping the yard tidy, moving cargo around the yard. -You will be using forklifts regularly, working with and around a crane, and potential for on water assignments. - You will also be tasked with supporting Shipping/Receiving activities, which include verifying cargo origin and destination, cargo lift preparations. To excel in this position, all candidates should be able to multi-task in stressful conditions with minimal supervision. In addition to being an excellent communicator, the ideal candidate will also demonstrate superb organizational and interpersonal skills. Candidates must have the ability to: 1. Communicate clearly and effectively with direct supervisor, management, co-workers, and vendors. 2. Troubleshoot and solve problems. 3. Organize and prioritize tasks. 4.
