Yard Checker

Job Overview As a Yard Checker, you’ll help keep warehouse operations moving by checking inventory and shipment details as goods arrive, leave, and move through the yard. You’ll use warehouse management systems and inventory management software to enter accurate data, support shipping logistics, and coordinate with warehouse distribution teams. This hands-on role connects logistics, shipping and receiving, and order fulfillment. Duties Check incoming and outgoing loads against shipping documents; record discrepancies and update inventory records through data entry. Support shipping logistics, trade compliance, and applicable international trade regulations by reviewing shipment information and following established procedures. Assist with stocking, packaging, order picking, and picking and packing to keep orders ready for dispatch. Load and unload materials and move goods using equipment such as a pallet jack, order picker, or forklift, when trained and authorized. Use Microsoft Office, ERP (enterprise resource planning) systems, MRP (material requirements planning), or AS400 as applicable to track inventory and shipment activity. Your impact: Accurate checks help warehouse teams and customers receive the right goods and keep orders moving smoothly. Qualifications Warehouse experience and familiarity with warehouse operations, inventory management, warehouse distribution, or shipping and receiving are helpful. Basic math skills, attention to detail, clear communication, and a customer service mindset. Comfort with data entry and warehouse management systems or inventory management software; experience with Microsoft Office is useful. Familiarity with logistics, order fulfillment, shipping logistics, trade compliance, or international trade regulations is preferred. Forklift, order picker, and pallet jack experience is helpful; operate equipment only with required authorization.
