Colorado River BOCESJOB DESCRIPTION – FLEET MANAGER General Description of the Role Coordinate and assist with the safe transportation of students to and from school and field trips. Service and maintain all transportation vehicles owned by Yampah Mountain High School and CR BOCES Exceptional Needs Department so that all students have a safe environment to travel to and from school. Qualifications Required Education: High School Diploma District required driver training Licensure: Colorado Driver’s License, CDL License Supervisor: Yampah Mountain School Principal Compensation: Bus Driver/ Fleet Manager Salary Schedule (hourly) - 205 Days with 10 hours a days Status: Non-exempt Working Conditions: Frequent travel required; management and de-escalation of student behaviors Specific Skills Preferred Knowledge of bus driving industry requirements Basic bus mechanical knowledge and skills Strong customer relations skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Good driving record Ability to work a flexible schedule and be dependable Major Areas of Responsibility and Duties Specific to this Job Manage the day-to-day operations of the fleet, including scheduling maintenance and repairs for vehicles Coordinate communication between the school and bus drivers to secure safe efficient transportation Coordinate and collaborate with school personnel to support the operational needs related to transportation logistics Drives routes as needed to ensure the safe transportation of all students Maintains a problem-solving mindset with the ability to collaborate with other staff members Collaborate with YMHS principal driver, student, parent, and school needs regarding transportation Monitor road and weather conditions. Inform leadership of necessary safety precautions Assign buses and equipment to routes to meet student needs with final approval from YMHS principal.
