Poultry Operations Coordinator
Swan Creek Layer Farm Ltd.Job Overview The Poultry Operations Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and administering the Company’s commercial poultry operations, including production planning, regulatory compliance, quota management, and operational reporting. Acting as the central point of coordination between farm management, hatcheries, feed suppliers, grading stations, industry organizations, and senior leadership, this role ensures effective planning and execution of flock placements, transfers, production schedules, quota utilization, and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of commercial egg production, pullet rearing, layer and broiler management, quota administration, and supply-managed poultry systems. They will ensure production plans align with barn capacity, flock requirements, quota allocations, business objectives, and regulatory obligations while maintaining accurate operational and financial records. This position requires a highly organized, analytical individual who can manage multiple flock cycles and support business decisions through accurate planning, reporting, and operational analysis. Responsibilities Flock & Production Planning: Coordinate pullet and layer and broiler flock placements, transfers, depopulations, and production schedules across all company farms; maintain accurate bird inventories, barn capacity, flock ages, stocking densities, and mortality records. Quota & EFO Administration: Manage EFO quota allocations, flock allotments, placement reporting, quota utilization, bids, credits, home-week adjustments, and related regulatory requirements; maintain accurate records in the EFO Online Portal. Provide support to broiler management within the CFO administration portal. Pullet Administration: Manage pullet inventories, customer allocations, pricing, billing, placement records, and communications between customers, hatcheries, farms, and management. Operational Reporting & Analysis: Develop and maintain flock tracking systems and prepare weekly performance, production, cost, profitability, and flock reconciliation reports; identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement. Financial & Cost Administration: Support budgeting, forecasting, cost-of-production analysis, inventory management, and financial reporting by maintaining accurate flock, production, and cost data. Farm & Supply Chain Coordination: Act as a central point of coordination between farm managers, hatcheries, feed suppliers, grading stations, customers, and senior management to ensure timely execution of production plans and schedule changes. Regulatory & Compliance: Ensure accurate and timely completion of EFO, animal care, biosecurity, food safety, stocking density, audit, permit, and other regulatory reporting and documentation. Industry & Government Programs: Monitor industry and regulatory changes; administer applicable agricultural programs, including CLTIP, Farm Business Registration, grants, and funding opportunities. Records & Systems Management: Maintain accurate, secure, and organized operational, financial, flock, quota, and compliance records within Excel, SharePoint, Teams, and other business systems. Operational Support & Continuous Improvement: Support farm managers and leadership with production planning, reporting, scheduling, procurement, and operational improvement initiatives while proactively identifying and resolving production or scheduling issues. Industry Relationships: Maintain effective working relationships with industry organizations, suppliers, regulatory bodies, hatcheries, grading stations, and other external partners. Qualifications and Skills: Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial poultry production, preferably within pullet and/or layer operations, or related experience.
