Wire cutter/ Warehouse worker
Regional Warehouse and LogisticsPay Rate: - $26 per hour Shift: -5:00 am to 1:30 pm +OT (Monday to Friday) Summary of Key Responsibilities: Wire Cutter Position Summary The Wire Cutter is responsible for efficiently and accurately fulfilling customer orders for wire and cable cuts using material-handling equipment and wire-reeling/coiling machinery. This position ensures that wire and cable are stored, staged, and cut in accordance with company standards for safety, security, accuracy, and productivity. The Wire Cutter may also be required to support other warehouse functions as needed. Essential Responsibilities Contribute to a culture focused on employee safety and maintaining a safe work environment. Follow established Standard Operating Procedures and Environmental Health and Safety rules. Immediately report and address safety concerns. Perform daily equipment and machine checks. Operate material-handling equipment and powered material-handling equipment safely and efficiently. Retrieve and cut wire accurately and efficiently for customer shipments. Inspect wire for conformance with specifications and remove defective material. Fill orders accurately and efficiently. Ensure outbound shipments are accurate and free from damage. Place reels of specified wire onto the machine payout spindle. Thread wire through feed rolls. Adjust machine controls to regulate wire thickness, pressure, heat, cutting length, and stripping length. Stack and store merchandise in the appropriate area. Stage completed wire cuts in the appropriate shipping area. Maintain minimum wire-cutting standards in accordance with current company policies for accuracy and productivity. Immediately report damage to electronic hardware, work machines, pipe racks, or other equipment to a supervisor. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Education Preferred: High school diploma or GED. Experience One or more years of wire-cutting experience preferred. Prior warehouse or distribution center experience preferred. Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations Certification or demonstrated ability to operate forklifts, hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of Radio Frequency scanning devices preferred. Willingness to be trained on material-handling equipment, including: Forklifts. Stand-up reach trucks. High-reach narrow-aisle equipment. Stand-up rider pallet jacks. Ability to complete required OSHA safety training for applicable equipment. Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and customers. Ability to address basic issues and problems. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations accurately. Ability to organize and prioritize job tasks and requirements. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Ability to meet deadlines. Ability to work overtime as needed.
