Job Description Warehouse Supervisor – Receiving & Order Fulfillment Department: Warehouse / Operations Reports To: Warehouse Manager Position Type: Full-Time Exempt Position Summary The Warehouse Supervisor – Receiving & Order Fulfillment is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the receiving and order fulfillment operations within the warehouse. This position ensures that incoming products are received, inspected, documented, and stored accurately and that customer orders are picked, filled, staged, and prepared for shipment in a timely and accurate manner. This role provides hands-on leadership, direction, and support to warehouse employees while maintaining high standards for productivity, inventory accuracy, safety, organization, and customer service. The supervisor is responsible for coordinating workflow, monitoring employee performance, resolving operational issues, and ensuring that departmental goals and deadlines are consistently achieved. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Receiving Operations Direct supervision of the Receiving department. Supervise daily receiving activities, ensuring incoming shipments are correct and received accurately. Supervise and ensure that the receiving department is correctly and efficiently verifying that all incoming products are correct and processed accurately. Identify and resolve discrepancies involving shortages, overages, damages, or incorrect products. Ensure all received inventory is properly entered into the warehouse management or inventory system. Maintain an organized and efficient receiving area. Communicate receiving issues and inventory discrepancies. Order Filling and Fulfillment Directly supervise the daily activities of the Order Filling department to ensure customer orders are completed accurately and on schedule. Supervise daily workload and establish priorities based on shipping deadlines and operational needs. Supervise order filling for accuracy, productivity, packing, fulfillment turnaround times. Investigate and resolve order discrepancies, shortages, and fulfillment errors. Coordinate with shipping and other warehouse departments to ensure smooth order flow. Identify opportunities to improve order-filling processes and reduce picking errors. Employee Supervision and Leadership Supervise, train, coach, and develop receiving and order-filling departments employees. Assign daily responsibilities and ensure adequate staffing to meet workload requirements. Monitor attendance, punctuality, productivity, and overall employee performance. Provide regular feedback and address performance concerns in a timely and professional manner. Promote teamwork, accountability, communication, and a positive work environment. Assist with onboarding and training new warehouse employees. Execute employee disciplinary actions Create and execute employee yearly performance reviews. Ensure employees follow established company policies, procedures, and work instructions. Safety and Warehouse Organization Enforce all warehouse safety policies and procedures. Ensure employees properly operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment. Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas. Ensure proper handling and storage of products. Report workplace hazards, equipment issues, and safety incidents promptly. Promote a culture of safety and accountability throughout the department. Overall Expectations The Warehouse Supervisor – Receiving & Order Filling is expected to take ownership of the receiving and order fulfillment departments, maintain a high level of operational efficiency, and ensure employees are meeting established performance expectations.
