The Opportunity

The Warehouse Shipping & Receiving Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse, including the safe, accurate, and efficient receipt, storage, and shipment of products to domestic and international customers. This role provides direct supervision to warehouse personnel (4 direct reports) and ensures compliance with company policies, safety standards, and shipping regulations while meeting customer delivery requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all day-to-day warehouse activities including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping of products.
  • Ensure inventory is properly stored, labeled, and maintained to support accuracy and efficiency.
  • Coordinate workflow and staffing to meet shipping schedules and operational demands.
  • Monitor warehouse performance and identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Supervise inbound and outbound shipments to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Oversee domestic and international shipments, including container loading and coordination with freight forwarders and carriers.
  • Ensure shipping documentation is accurate and complete (e.g., packing lists, bills of lading, customs documentation).
  • Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, damages, or delays.
  • Support inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation of discrepancies.
  • Work closely with the Warehouse Logistics Manager to maintain inventory integrity and system accuracy.
  • Enforce workplace safety standards and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote a safe work environment by ensuring proper use of PPE and safe operation of equipment (e.g., forklifts).
  • Participate in safety meetings, incident investigations, and corrective action implementation.
  • Lead, train, and coach warehouse employees to ensure performance expectations are met.
  • Assign daily tasks, monitor productivity, and provide feedback to team members.
  • Support onboarding and ongoing training of warehouse staff.
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with the Warehouse Logistics Manager, production, customer service, and transportation partners.
  • Provide updates on shipping status, staffing needs, and operational challenges.
  • Assist with reporting on key metrics such as shipping accuracy, on-time delivery, and productivity.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in logistics or supply chain considered an asset.
  • 3–5 years of warehouse, shipping, or logistics experience, including supervisory or lead experience.
  • Experience with international shipping and containerized freight preferred.
  • Working knowledge of shipping documentation and customs requirements.
