Job Responsibilities: JOB SUMMARY: Plans work, directs employees and gathers resources to meet production/customer needs, department and plant goals. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Studies production/shipping schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment. Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production/material/shipping/receiving schedules. Recommends measures to improve material handling methods, equipment performance, and quality of service. Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems. Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals. Maintains time and attendance records. Confers with other supervisors and leads to coordinate activities of the department. Coordinates efforts of shipping, receiving/warehouse/container process to ensure inventory accuracy, and ensure that the needs of vendors, customers and internal departments are met in a timely manner. Conducts daily pre-shift meetings with personnel. Participates in inventories and cycle count efforts. Evaluates and presents departmental and company performance results. Supervises truck drivers (tractor/trailer) engaged in delivery and pick-ups of production related materials. Supervises activities of employees engaged in the operation of remote warehousing facilities. Develops and maintains procedural manuals for all material handling personnel. Directly supervises employees in the warehouse, shipping and receiving. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Perform all duties and responsibilities outlined above, as well as other related responsibilities and assignments as directed by management or authorized personnel. ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH AND SAFETY: Demonstrates EHS leadership by setting a good example Responsible for performing regular workplace inspections Is involved in the accident/incident investigation program Ensures safe operating procedures are in place and are observed Ensures individuals working in their operations area have the proper equipment and personal protective equipment to perform their work safely Makes sure employee concerns related to EHS are addressed and contacts the EHS Department if further assistance is needed Perform daily checks on pre use inspections of forklifts and report any issues to the appropriate group for repair QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily.
