Warehouse/Delivery Driver Non CDL - SPS Fire Protection
SPS Fire Protection is seeking a full-time Warehouse employee for our growing Johnston, IA location. We provide premier fire protection products and fabrication to the greater Des Moines area as well as surrounding states from this location.
This role will consist primarily of the fabrication of sprinkler pipe, which is mainly cutting, grooving, or threading pipe. Training for all of these processes will be provided at time of hire.
When necessary, this position may also serve as a delivery driver, providing prompt and professional deliveries to our valued customers.
To be successful, a strong attention to detail, a clean driving record, and a willingness to develop a solid understanding of our products and processes is needed.
Responsibilities
Deliver materials to customers using truck and 20 foot trailer.(CDL license not required)
Work towards acquiring a CDL license to drive our flatbed with forklift for jobsite deliveries. (Company will assist with the process}
Cut pipe using plasma cutter and roll cutter
Operate hydraulic pipe groover
Operate threading machines for 1" to 4" pipe sizes
Maintain a well organized shop space making it easy to find material
Other duties as required from time to time
Position Requirements
Ability to manage time and prioritize work effectively
Strong communication and customer service skills, including speaking with customers face-to-face and over the phone for jobsite deliveries.
Must have current, valid driver's license and a clean driving record
Full Time: Monday - Friday, 7am - 3:30pm may be adjusted due to delivery times
Salary: $20.00/hour to start
