Second StorySecond Story Collection operates the GM Company Store, supporting General Motors through e-commerce, retail stores, promotional merchandise, corporate gifting, and special events. Our Ferndale warehouse manages a diverse inventory of branded apparel, accessories, collectibles, and promotional products. We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Warehouse Receiving & Inventory Specialist to join our growing operations team. Position Overview The Warehouse Receiving & Inventory Specialist is responsible for receiving incoming merchandise, verifying shipments, accurately recording inventory, and ensuring products are properly organized and stored. This position plays an important role in maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting efficient warehouse operations. The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable working with computers and inventory systems, and takes pride in getting the details right. Key Responsibilities Receive, unload, inspect, and process incoming merchandise and deliveries. Verify product quantities, SKUs, and descriptions against purchase orders and packing slips. Identify and document shortages, overages, damaged merchandise, and shipping discrepancies. Accurately enter and update inventory information in our warehouse management system (ShipHero). Label, organize, and properly store merchandise in designated warehouse locations. Coordinate with purchasing and warehouse management to resolve receiving discrepancies. Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts and physical inventory. Help maintain an organized, clean, and safe receiving and warehouse environment. Assist with inventory transfers, product preparation, and other warehouse activities as needed. Communicate effectively with purchasing, fulfillment, and warehouse team members. Qualifications Required: Previous experience in warehouse receiving, inventory control, or a similar position preferred. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory management software. Ability to read and understand purchase orders, packing slips, and product labels. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Dependable attendance and ability to work independently. Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical warehouse tasks throughout the workday. Preferred: Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), particularly ShipHero. Familiarity with barcode scanners and inventory tracking. Experience receiving merchandise with multiple SKUs, sizes, and product variations. Experience with Shopify or e-commerce fulfillment operations.
