Key Responsibilities
As the Warehouse Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of warehouse and logistics functions, driving efficiency, productivity, and safety across the afternoon shift. Your responsibilities will include:
Operational Oversight:
- Supervise and coordinate afternoon warehouse activities, ensuring shipments are completed accurately, safely, and on schedule.
- Monitor daily workflow, identify operational challenges, and implement effective corrective actions to maintain productivity and quality standards.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead and mentor Warehouse Foremen and their teams, providing clear direction, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Foster a positive, team-oriented culture focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration:
- Partner with Sales teams across Western Canada to ensure customer orders and priorities are executed efficiently and accurately.
- Work closely with Corporate departments to ensure compliance with company policies and operational standards.
Process & Performance Management:
- Coordinate with other Assistant Operations Managers and the Corporate Operations Manager on staffing, attendance, and training needs.
- Review outbound documentation for accuracy and compliance while ensuring effective coordination with drivers and logistics personnel for safe, efficient loading and dispatch.
Communication & Reporting:
- Ensure operational goals, company targets, and customer requirements are effectively communicated to all team members.
- Support continuous improvement by monitoring performance metrics and contributing to process optimization initiatives.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of warehouse or logistics experience, including 1–3 years in a supervisory or management capacity.
- Related Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, or Logistics is an asset.
- Experience overseeing or supporting front-line supervisors or foremen.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and warehouse or inventory management systems.
- Familiarity with carbon steel products, valves, or related industrial materials is an asset.
- Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to delegate effectively and make sound decisions under pressure.
