Position Summary This role plays a critical hands-on role in supporting manufacturing, inventory control, shipping, receiving, and facility operations. This position is responsible for ensuring the efficient flow of materials throughout the organization, from receiving and inspection through production support and final shipment to customers. This role is ideal for an individual who enjoys variety, works well independently, and thrives in a small-business environment where flexibility and teamwork are essential. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to grow into an Operations Manager position as the company continues to expand. Key Responsibilities Materials Management & Inventory Control · Receive incoming materials, components, and finished goods. · Perform incoming inspection and verification of received products against purchase orders and specifications. · Accurately process receipts, inventory transactions, and material movements within the ERP system. · Store and organize inventory to maintain accuracy, traceability, and efficient retrieval. · Support cycle counting and inventory accuracy initiatives. · Maintain warehouse organization, cleanliness, and material flow efficiency. Manufacturing Support · Pull, stage, and kit materials for production orders. · Provide hands-on support to assemblers and production personnel as needed. · Assemble microscope bases, frames, and related subassemblies according to work instructions and quality standards. · Assist with process improvements that improve efficiency, quality, and throughput. Shipping & Logistics · Disassemble microscopes and prepare products for shipment. · Package products to ensure safe transport and protection from damage. · Manage outbound shipments for customers, distributors, and service activities. · Coordinate domestic and international shipments. · Serve as the primary point of contact for shipping vendors and freight providers, including UPS, FedEx, LTL carriers, and freight forwarders. · Track shipments and proactively address delivery issues. Quality & Compliance · Follow established ISO-compliant procedures and quality system requirements. · Maintain accurate records and documentation within the ERP and quality systems. · Ensure inventory handling, packaging, and shipping processes meet company quality standards. · Participate in audits, inspections, and continuous improvement activities. Facility & Operations Support · Serve as the lead coordinator for light building maintenance activities. · Coordinate contractors and vendors for larger building and facility projects. · Help maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment. · Support special projects and other operational activities as business needs require. Qualifications Required · 3+ years of experience in materials management, warehouse operations, manufacturing support, shipping/receiving, or a related field. · Experience using ERP systems for inventory transactions and material management. · Prior experience in a manufacturing environment. · Forklift operating experience. · Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. · Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. · Ability to work with minimal supervision while managi…
