Warehouse Manager

ABOUT STEMAR Stemar Equipment & Supply Co., Inc. has served Southern California since 1922. We are a Los Angeles–based specialty equipment rental and sales company focused on pipe plugs, high-pressure testing equipment, and underground construction supplies for contractors, municipalities, and utilities. We are family-owned, service-driven, and growing. THE ROLE We are hiring a full-time Warehouse Manager to lead our warehouse operations. You will oversee daily order fulfillment, rental returns, shipping and receiving, and shop repairs; supervise and develop the warehouse crew; and keep our facility safe, organized, and secure. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who sets the standard and takes pride in running a tight operation. WHAT YOU’LL DO: Managing a team of 15-20 employees. Safety Maintain a safe warehouse environment and enforce proper PPE use Ensure forklifts, tools, and shop equipment are used safely and well maintained Report safety or liability concerns to management immediately Operations Oversee daily warehouse workflow: order fulfillment, loading/unloading, shipping, receiving, rental returns, and shop projects Run a twice-daily workforce check — assign work and adjust schedules based on workloads, callouts, vacations, staffing, and deliveries Ensure rental returns are processed correctly, including test records, return-to-rent procedures, and our Quality Control Inspection (QCI) program Oversee all rental equipment repairs and shop equipment maintenance Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and well labeled; continuously improve layout and space utilization Property & Security Implement and oversee building security, including gates, cameras, locks, yard, parking areas, walls, and sidewalks Address property maintenance items such as graffiti, trash, pallets, scrap metal, used oil/fuel, and other hazardous materials Assist with building improvement and shop projects Leadership Supervise, train, coach, reward, and discipline warehouse employees Cross-train all warehouse employees and learn every role yourself Monitor performance and provide feedback to the Operations Manager Improve labor efficiency and team morale; hold regular meetings on goals, updates, and safety Build a professional, service-forward culture toward customers Growth (after 6 months) Develop a warehouse Employee Retention Program Develop a recurring Warehouse Health Report WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR Reliability: You show up as scheduled and communicate clearly when issues arise Positive attitude: Respectful, strong work ethic, eager to learn; can give and receive constructive feedback professionally Problem solving: Stays calm and creative when handling urgent or unusual situations People skills: Excellent listening and communication Organization: Able to prioritize and stay flexible as assignments change SCHEDULE 8:30 AM start through close of business; minimum 40 hours per week Occasional open-to-close coverage for vacations, callouts, or planned events (no more than 20 days per year) Salaried position; all employees clock in/out for timekeeping COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience.
