Forestwood FarmWarehouse Manager Department: Operations Reports To: Director of Operations Location: Jackson, Tn Employment Type: Full-Time Position Summary The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily warehouse operations of Forestwood Farm, ensuring customer orders are accurately pulled, staged, and loaded for delivery while maintaining a safe, organized, and productive work environment. This position provides hands-on leadership to warehouse supervisors and employees and is accountable for labor management, order accuracy, productivity, food safety, communication, and overall warehouse performance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Manage daily warehouse operations, including order pulling, staging, loading, receiving, and product movement. Ensure customer orders are pulled accurately and trucks are loaded correctly and on schedule. Lead and support warehouse supervisors, leads, selectors/pullers, loaders, and other warehouse employees. Develop and manage employee schedules based on workload and operational needs. Monitor employee hours and overtime and make staffing adjustments when necessary. Establish clear expectations for productivity, attendance, accuracy, and job performance. Monitor mis-picks, shortages, damages, loading errors, and other warehouse issues and implement corrective actions. Ensure proper product rotation and handling practices are followed, including FIFO procedures where applicable. Maintain warehouse cleanliness, organization, cooler conditions, and proper storage practices. Ensure compliance with company food-safety, sanitation, and quality standards. Promote and enforce safe work practices, including proper use of forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment. Conduct regular warehouse walkthroughs and address operational or safety concerns. Train, coach, and develop supervisors and warehouse employees. Work with Human Resources regarding attendance, performance, disciplinary matters, staffing needs, and employee development. Partner with Sales, Purchasing, Transportation, and other departments to resolve order and delivery issues. Review warehouse performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, labor utilization, and workflow. Maintain strong communication between shifts and ensure supervisors and employees understand daily priorities. Oversee warehouse office work, including the organization and timely completion of receiving, order, inventory, and shipping paperwork. Review daily paperwork for accuracy and completeness, resolve discrepancies, and ensure records are filed and available for follow-up. Establish and follow end-of-day closing procedures, including confirming that orders and loading paperwork are complete, outstanding issues are communicated to the next shift, and the warehouse office is secured. Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training warehouse employees as needed. Hold supervisors and employees accountable while maintaining a professional and respectful work environment. Respond to operational issues and make timely decisions to keep warehouse operations running efficiently. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous warehouse, distribution, or operations leadership experience preferred. Experience in produce, food distribution, foodservice, or refrigerated warehouse operations is strongly preferred. Strong leadership and employee-management skills. Ability to manage a fast-paced operation with changing daily volumes and priorities. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to monitor labor costs, overtime, productivity, and operational performance. Comfortable working with warehouse management systems, inventory systems, email, and basic reporting. Ability to work effectively with employees from different backgrounds and levels of experience.
