Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Working closely with the Director of Distribution, the Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing the Phoenix Rescue Mission warehouse operation, including, but not limited to, receiving goods; managing inventory; organizing and maximizing storage space; coordinating shipping, pickup, and delivery activities; and ensuring warehouse safety and cleanliness. The Manager also leads and manages the warehouse staff, volunteers, and work therapy clients, ensuring team objectives are met.

The Warehouse Manager is also responsible for cultivating a culture and climate that aligns with Phoenix Rescue Mission’s organizational values and for modeling behaviors that align with those values.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  •  Directly manage the warehouse staff, including providing training and development, onboarding new staff, monitoring and managing performance, and promoting a positive collaborative culture.
  •  Ensure that the warehouse staff is well trained, equipped, and motivated to fulfill their responsibilities, continuously supporting the wellness and development of the warehouse team.
  •  Engage in discipleship by planting seeds and modeling Christ’s love to staff, clients, and donors and by providing faith resources as requested.
  •  Set and monitor performance goals for staff and operations.
  •  Oversee warehouse volunteers and work therapy clients, assigning tasks and providing appropriate training in sorting, packing, distribution, and other activities.
  •  Develop, implement, and maintain inventory tracking systems to streamline operations, ensuring an accurate inventory of donated item, supplies, and materials.
  •  Oversee the receipt, inspection, and storage of goods, including donations.
  •  Coordinate the distribution of items to ministry programs, beneficiaries, or partner organizations.
  •  Monitor stock levels to ensure availability and reduce waste.
  •  Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, including fire codes and OSHA standards, identifying and mitigating risks related to operations, equipment, or safety,
  •  Maintain accurate records for audits and inspections.
  •  Manage the warehouse budget, including costs for supplies, equipment, and staffing, seeking cost-effective solutions for operations.
  •  Drive warehouse trucks for pick-ups and deliveries and forklift, as needed.
  •  Demonstrate understanding and comply with all relevant legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements, company policies and procedures, and the Code of Ethical Conduct.
  •  Follow the Mission’s Statement of Faith and lifestyle and adhere to the Mission’s employee policy manual and guidelines set forth by the CEO.
  •  Lead or participate in devotions, prayers, or other organization activities that promote a credible Christian witness and lifestyle.
  •  Perform other duties within scope as assigned.
Requirements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field, and at least 5 years of experience in warehouse operations, supply chain, nonprofit operations, or a related role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience, resulting in strong demonstrated leadership, administrative, and supervisory skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated experience with inventory management software preferred.

  •  Ability to work a flexible schedule as the position may require on-call weekend and evening responsibilities.
