Warehouse Manager Location: Indianapolis, IN Job Type: Full-Time, Salary, Exempt Salary: $70,000–$75,000 per year Reports To: Operations Manager About the Position We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to lead our warehouse, inventory, and distribution operations in Indianapolis, IN. This position is responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient receiving, storage, inventory control, picking, loading, and distribution of bulk and packaged lubricants, specialty chemicals, drums, totes, and related equipment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who understands warehouse operations and has a strong commitment to safety, regulatory compliance, inventory accuracy, and team development. Experience working with petroleum products, industrial lubricants, bulk chemicals, or hazardous materials is highly preferred. What You'll DoWarehouse Operations & Logistics Lead daily warehouse activities including receiving, unloading, storage, picking, loading, and shipping. Oversee the safe handling and storage of bulk fluids, packaged lubricants, drums, totes, and equipment. Optimize warehouse layouts, racking, bulk tank storage, and fluid transfer systems to improve space utilization and efficiency. Coordinate dock operations and delivery schedules with transportation companies, fleet drivers, suppliers, and other partners. Ensure forklifts, hose reels, pumps, fluid transfer equipment, and other material-handling equipment are properly operated, inspected, and maintained. Maintain a clean, organized, secure, and efficient warehouse and loading environment. Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes, productivity, and overall operational performance. Inventory Management & Reporting Work closely with Purchasing and Inventory teams to maintain accurate inventory levels. Oversee FIFO stock rotation, cycle counts, physical inventories, and year-end inventory audits. Reconcile physical inventory with Warehouse Management System (WMS) and ERP records. Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, shrinkage, and other variances. Maintain product quality and integrity, including contamination prevention, sealed-drum inspections, and batch/lot tracking. Prepare operational, inventory, and safety reports and metrics for management. Team Leadership Recruit, onboard, train, schedule, and develop warehouse employees. Establish clear performance expectations and hold team members accountable for safety, productivity, quality, and attendance. Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations. Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. Lead by example through hands-on involvement in daily warehouse operations. Safety & Regulatory Compliance Ensure warehouse operations comply with applicable OSHA, EPA, HAZMAT, DOT, and environmental requirements . Maintain appropriate procedures for hazardous materials storage and handling. Ensure Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are properly maintained and accessible. Follow and enforce spill prevention and response procedures, including applicable SPCC requirements. Conduct or support safety inspections, training, and corrective actions. Maintain a safe working environment for employees, drivers, vendors, and visitors. What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications 5+ years of progressive warehouse management experience. High School Diploma or GED required. Experience leading and developing warehouse teams. Forklift certification and experience operating sit-down forklifts, reach trucks, and heavy equipment . Working knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and hazardous material handling. Experience with warehouse inventory systems, WMS, and/or ERP software. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel. Strong organizational, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
