Warehouse, Facilities & MI-BOX Utility Specialist Wayfinder Moving Services / MI-BOX – Buffalo, NY $22–$27 per hour | Full-Time | Weekdays At Wayfinder Moving Services, we take pride in doing things the right way. That means taking care of our customers, our equipment, our trucks, our warehouse, and our property. We’re looking for a hands-on, mechanically inclined person who can help us keep everything running smoothly while also supporting our new MI-BOX portable storage operation. This is a unique position for someone who likes variety. One day you may be operating a forklift and organizing the warehouse. The next, you may be delivering an MI-BOX storage container to a customer's home. Later that afternoon, you might be fixing something around the facility or getting equipment ready for the next day. If you're handy, safety-conscious, comfortable operating equipment, and like figuring things out, this could be a great fit. WHAT YOU’LL DO: MI-BOX Portable Storage Operations: You will be trained to operate our non-CDL MI-BOX delivery truck and specialized container lift system to: Deliver MI-BOX portable storage containers to customers Pick up containers when customers are finished with them Transfer containers between customer locations and our facility Safely load and unload containers using the MI-BOX lift system Position containers carefully on residential and commercial properties Evaluate driveways, slopes, overhead clearance, ground conditions, and other potential hazards before placing or retrieving a container Protect customers' driveways, lawns, buildings, vehicles, and surrounding property Perform basic inspections of the truck and lift equipment Keep MI-BOX equipment clean, maintained, and ready to operate This equipment requires more than simply driving a truck. The lift system requires good judgment, mechanical awareness, attention to detail, and the ability to safely maneuver a large container in sometimes tight spaces. We will train the right person on the MI-BOX system, but you should already be comfortable around machinery and equipment. Warehouse & Equipment Load and unload storage crates, containers, and shipments Operate a large forklift and other material-handling equipment Organize and maintain the warehouse Keep storage areas clean, safe, and efficient Prepare equipment and materials for upcoming jobs Help identify damaged or malfunctioning equipment before it becomes a larger problem Facility & Fleet Keep our warehouse, yard, and surrounding property clean and professional Prep and clean trucks inside and out Handle basic facility maintenance and repairs Change lightbulbs, furnace filters, and other routine maintenance items Perform minor repairs and general upkeep Help with preventative maintenance Take company vehicles for service, disposal runs, or other operational needs Notice problems and take ownership of getting them addressed Moving Operations: This is not primarily a mover position, but occasionally we may need you to: Assist crews with loading or unloading Help with warehouse-related moving projects Jump in when an extra set of capable hands is needed WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR The right person for this position is someone who is handy, mechanically inclined, dependable, and safety-conscious. You don't need to know how to do everything on day one. You do need to be the type of person who can look at a mechanical or physical problem, think it through, and figure out the safest way to handle it. You should be: Mechanically inclined and comfortable around trucks and equipment Safety-conscious and aware of your surroundings Comfortable operating large equipment Able to judge distances and maneuver equipment in tight spaces Careful when working around customers' homes and property Comfortable performing basic repairs and maintenance Physically capable of hands-on work Organized and able to work independently Reliable and consistent Someone who notices problems instead of …
