Warehouse Associate - Shipping, Receiving, Inspection & Assembly | Entry Level
HJ Kirby CorporationJob Summary This is a do-a-little-of-everything role. You will learn our warehouse from the ground up – receiving, inspection, shipping and assembly – so you can step in wherever you are needed. We are not hiring someone to fill a spot. We are hiring someone to develop. If you show up, work hard and keep learning, this job can grow into bigger roles with more responsibility and more pay – if that is what you want. This is not a big-box warehouse . You will not be a badge number on a 10-hour shift with a rate to hit. We are a small, tight-knit team that knows each other, has each other's backs and genuinely cares about one another. We work hard, and we have fun doing it – we celebrate holidays and birthdays together, and when the company does well, everyone shares in it. We are also growing. After three generations, we have exciting things ahead, and we want people who will grow with us. Who We Are HJ Kirby Corp has been in business for about 60 years. We are a family-owned, third-generation company that builds custom pressure gauges and supplies the fittings, tubing, valves and assemblies that go into equipment built by American manufacturers. Receiving & Quality Inspection Unload incoming shipments and receive every item against the packing slip and purchase order. Inspect incoming product for quality – damage, wrong parts, wrong quantities – and flag problems right away. Put product away in the right location so anyone can find it next time. Shipping Pick, pack and prepare customer orders, double-checking part numbers, sizes and quantities. Process shipments using UPS WorldShip and other carriers; prepare labels, packing slips and paperwork. Pack every order so it arrives the way it left our building. Assembly & Kitting Support our assembly area. Learn to read part numbers, product specifications and work instructions. Facility Keep the warehouse clean, safe and organized. Take on the upkeep jobs that tend to get pushed aside: light maintenance, small repairs, shelving and organizing. Whatever Else It Takes Help with inventory counts, cover for teammates when they are out, and jump in wherever the day needs you. What We Expect We expect a lot from our people, and we take care of them in return. We want to be straight with you about what matters here, so there are no surprises: 5 minutes early is on time. On time means at your station, ready to work, at your start time – not pulling into the parking lot. Show up. On a small team, one missed day is felt by everyone. If something truly comes up, you call your supervisor as early as possible – not a last-minute text. Whatever it takes. When an order has to go out, we get it out. Sometimes that means staying a little late or pitching in on a job that is not "yours." Own it. If you make a mistake, say so and fix it. If you see a problem, speak up. Get it right. Ship the wrong part and a customer's equipment does not get built. Precision matters here. Stay humble and curious. Ask questions. Want to know how things work and why we do things the way we do. Bring a positive attitude. No job here is beneath anyone. Who we are looking for You do not need a college degree or warehouse experience. You do need: A strong work ethic and a track record of showing up – at a job, on a team, in the military, for your family, anywhere. Mechanical curiosity – you like fixing things, building things or figuring out how they work. Attention to detail – you notice when something does not match. Clear communication – you keep your supervisor in the loop, good news or bad. Basic computer skills (email, entering information, basic Excel) and a willingness to learn our systems. Flexibility – you are fine with a different task every hour if that is what the day calls for. The ability to lift up to 50 lbs, be on your feet for most of the shift, and safely operate warehouse equipment after training. Reliable transportation to West…
