Warehouse Associate / Order Picker Plunkett Distributing Company | Fort Smith, AR Starting Pay: $16 per hour Hours: 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Position Overview Plunkett Distributing Company is looking for a dependable Warehouse Associate whose primary responsibility is picking customer orders accurately and preparing them for shipment. You’ll work with building materials, including sheet goods, countertops, stainless steel products, and ceiling materials. Responsibilities Pick and verify customer orders using handheld scanners Check item numbers, quantities, sizes, and product condition before completing each order Pack and secure materials on appropriate skids or runners to prevent damage during handling and transportation Label and stage completed orders in designated shipping areas Assist with loading outgoing trucks as needed Report missing products, damaged materials, or picking discrepancies to the warehouse lead or manager Operate forklifts and other equipment safely when trained and authorized Keep picking areas, aisles, and staging spaces clean and organized Work with the team to complete orders accurately and meet shipping schedules Qualifications Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic Attention to detail and basic math skills Basic computer skills and ability to use handheld scanners Ability to read product labels and follow on-screen picking instructions Ability to communicate clearly and work as part of a team Warehouse, order-picking, or forklift experience preferred Physical Requirements Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform duties involving standing, walking, bending, and reaching, with or without reasonable accommodation. Use appropriate equipment or team assistance for heavier or oversized materials.
