Position Overview InLog, Inc. is seeking a dependable, adaptable, and safety-focused Warehouse Associate & Backup Driver to join our warehouse and logistics team. In this versatile role, you will perform core floor operations—including receiving, processing, and weighing automotive battery pallets, operating material handling equipment, and loading/unloading trailers. Additionally, you will serve as a crucial backup driver, stepping in to deliver local routes on an as-needed basis to ensure seamless operations and client satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Warehouse Operations & Battery Processing Battery Processing: Efficiently receive, inspect, sort, and process returned and old automotive battery pallets on the warehouse floor. Inventory Management: Accurately combine and weigh pallets, recording precise inventory logs and weight tickets necessary for shipping, billing, and regulatory compliance. Loading & Unloading: Safely load and unload freight trailers using forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual loading techniques. Equipment Operation & Driving Equipment Operation: Safely operate sit-down forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and manual hand trucks daily to transport heavy, palletized materials throughout the facility. Backup Driving: Serve as a backup delivery driver using Class C company vehicles to cover local distribution routes when regular drivers are unavailable, maintaining on-time delivery schedules and professional customer service. Safety & Compliance Hazardous Material Safety: Strictly observe company safety protocols, Hazmat regulations, and OSHA standards when handling, stacking, and securing automotive batteries and heavy freight. Facility Maintenance: Keep work areas, staging docks, and warehouse aisles clean, organized, and free of hazards. Qualifications & Requirements Driving Credentials: A valid Class C driver’s license with a clean, acceptable driving record is strictly required . Equipment Experience: Proven, hands-on experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks. A current or prior forklift certification is highly preferred. Industry Background: Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a warehouse, logistics, or industrial environment, preferably handling heavy goods, automotive parts, or hazardous materials. Attention to Detail: Excellent organizational and math skills with a proven track record of accurately weighing, recording, and logging inventory data. Physical Capability: Ability to safely lift, bend, push, pull, and maneuver heavy automotive batteries (up to 50+ lbs), as well as stand, walk, and operate heavy equipment for extended periods during warehouse shifts. Adaptability: High flexibility and willingness to pivot duties quickly between intensive warehouse labor and local route driving based on daily operational demand.
