Used Car Assistant Manager - Lexus

Lexus of Freeport is seeking a motivated and experienced Used Car Assistant Manager to join our growing Pre-Owned Department. This is a hands-on operational position working directly with the Used Car Manager. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, detail-oriented, takes ownership of tasks, and follows through without constant supervision. The primary focus of this position is keeping our pre-owned inventory organized, properly merchandised, moving efficiently through reconditioning, and frontline-ready. Track, update, and reconcile vehicle inventory. Monitor newly acquired and traded vehicles from intake through service, detail, photos, and frontline. Track vehicles through the reconditioning process and follow up with service, detail, and outside vendors to prevent unnecessary delays. Monitor online inventory for missing photos, descriptions, equipment information, and other required content. Coordinate with the photo team and porters to ensure vehicles are properly photographed and ready for sale. Identify and follow up with customers and vehicle owners interested in selling their vehicles to the dealership. Maintain an organized pre-owned lot and coordinate vehicle placement and movement. Assist with key control and help resolve missing-key issues. Ensure required certification and inventory documentation is completed and accounted for. Conduct regular physical inventory checks and identify discrepancies. Monitor aging inventory for operational issues preventing vehicles from being frontline-ready. Help coordinate and prioritize daily responsibilities for the porter team. Identify operational bottlenecks and proactively work toward solutions. Provide the Used Car Manager with updates on reconditioning, missing photos, problem vehicles, inventory issues, and outstanding tasks. Assist with other inventory-related and administrative responsibilities as needed. Qualifications: Prior automotive dealership experience required. Used vehicle, inventory management, or assistant management experience strongly preferred. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong understanding of dealership inventory and used vehicle operations. Strong computer and technology skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Self-motivated, proactive, and able to solve problems without constant supervision.
