Truck Driver - Class 1
GPS Construction Ltd.Job Summary We are seeking a dependable Truck Driver – Class 1 to transport freight safely and efficiently. The role involves operating commercial vehicles, completing pre- and post-trip checks. Perference will be given to those with hands on experience operating heavy equipment(eg. excavators, loaders, dozers) 10 years experience low-bed and step deck Clean driving abstract Responsibilities Safely operate Class 1 trucks over short and long distances adhering to traffic laws, safety procedures, and applicable transportation regulations. Transport and deliver freight according to assigned routes, schedules, and handling instructions. Inspect the vehicle before and after trips; report defects and arrange maintenance as needed. Perform basic repairs or troubleshooting minor mechanical issues to ensure vehicle readiness Follow safe procedures when working around loading docks, freight, and heavy equipment. Keep the vehicle and work area clean and report incidents, delays, or equipment concerns promptly. Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s licence and a driving record that meets applicable requirements. Familiarity with heavy equipment operation and safe material handling is an advantage. Basic knowledge of automotive repair and vehicle maintenance is helpful. Strong safety awareness, reliability, communication skills, and attention to detail. Pay: $44.00-$50.00 per hour Work Location: Hybrid remote in Prince George, BC
